Dear Friends,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May the God of all creation----bless and strengthen you in every way.

I would like to ask for your prayers for my family, and me as I go on a 2-week missions trip to Vietnam and Thailand, and possibly a short trip to Cambodia. I will be meeting another missionary friend named Ken Halvorson so please add him to your prayers also.

Please pray for all our safety in all areas, and for a productive and fruitful ministry trip that will lay the foundation for many more evangelistic and discipleship and helps ministry outreaches in the future that will result in thousands of people being saved in the years to come.
Please pray for fresh anointing and new life blessing messages to be given to us to share in all areas that the Lord opens the doors. Also please pray that the Lord will much quicker that expected multiply back to us 4 fold the finances that are invested in this missions outreach. It is our hope to have a healthy, abundant supply for every good work. This mission’s trip is a step of faith and we are believing God for special blessings and encouragement to the people of Vietnam and Thailand during this trip and Cambodia on this or a future trip.

Your prayers for this mission’s trip are really needed and please forward this request to any people you know who are fervent intercessors. Please also pray for the Lord’s specific leading, to touch people’s hearts to help in supplying all the finances for this mission’s trip and for others in the future as God opens the doors.
Thanks and God bless you always.

In Christ’s Love,
Gordon & Emie Kalich

April 2007 Newsletter

JOHN 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

PHILIPPIANS 4:6&7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

ISAIAH 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

2 THESSALONIANS 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”
Dear Friends,
Warm greetings to you all, in the wonderful name of Jesus. May God truly fill your hearts and minds with the peace described in the above Scriptures. Our Savior is the God of all comfort. He is the faithful God----who promises us-----a future and a hope.

We live in a troubled world and also will have personal trials in life. Many times the news we read about and see on TV is not encouraging news but discouraging news. In our personal lives we will face challenges as well. The question is, “How will we respond to these problems and challenges?
Jesus has exhorts us to not let our hearts be troubled nor afraid. He cautions us not to be weighted down with dissipation and the anxieties of life. Jesus said in John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me, you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Jesus did not say that we might have tribulation, (from the Greek word thlipsis meaning: pressure, stress, adversity, affliction, etc.) He said we all, would at times experience tribulation in this world, and then encourages us to be cheerful about it because He has overcome the world.
For me and in observing most people---it seems more natural to be cheerful when things are going smoothly and well, and not so cheerful when there are major bumps in the road. But I believe that Jesus is calling us to a supernatural response and of our own personal will---based on the reality of Who Jesus is and what He has done and promised----to choose to be of good cheer and choose to accept His peace, and be confident that in Christ we will ultimately have the victory. JESUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN, AND IS TODAY, AND WILL BE IN THE FUTURE----BIGGER THAN ANY PROBLEM, ISSUE, OR CHALLENGE YOU OR I WILL EVER FACE. --------------And the good news is, He is on our side and will help us.

This week we held a special youth camp at the Bible college campus in Dulag, Leyte. Young people (teens to early twenties) came from the churches we have helped pioneer and establish on the main islands of Leyte and Samar, and the smaller island of Biliran. It started Monday Evening and finished on Wednesday evening. The first day we had 138 youth register and by the next day with a few registering late, we had a total of 149 young people register and attend the camp. This was our first major youth camp for the Eternal Life Ministries---Christian Fellowship Center churches. There were good praise & worship services and the sharing of encouraging messages and practical life lessons from the Bible; there was good fellowship, fun contests and games. By Wednesday night, new people had come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord, and many came forward during the evening alter call to commit their lives to serve
God faithfully, and to do their best to fulfill God’s call on their individual lives.
These types of camps take a lot of investment of time and energy on the part of Emie, myself, the pastors and volunteer workers of the churches. We had 74% of youth who were able to pay a registration fee and 26% who were only able to attend by scholarship. Of the fees received from youth, approximately 50% of costs were paid and Eternal Life Ministries covered the other 50% to make this Regional Youth Camp a reality. What a positive use of time, energy, talent, and finances. When we invest in reaching the youth for Jesus---we are investing in the present as well as the future. Just like in a track relay race, there will be the time when we pass on the baton to the next runners---the new generation.
PROVERBS 22:6 “Train a child up in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
I TIMOTHY 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
The last Sunday of March, I traveled to Zumaraga Island to speak at the 1st anniversary of an extension church in the small village of Mabuti. It was a very special meeting and guest from other islands attended as well.
While I was there, Emie was in Tacloban at a special meeting with most of the Christian Churches in the city. It was held in the new Astro dome (as they call it in the city) and between 3,000 to 4,000 attended.
On the 10th April, Emie and I drove to the Canavid church to attend and preach during their church anniversary service. It is about a 3& ½ hour drive each way. There were a few guests from other churches, and the meeting was a blessing to many people.
A week ago, a friend of ours from the States came to visit. and minister. His name is Doug Majsa. Doug was able to minister to our squatter area children, main church on Sunday, and preach a message of encouragement to the youth on Tuesday night. Doug had well prepared messages and was a blessing to those he ministered to.

THANK-YOU once more for your friendship, prayers, and financial investments in the ministry outreaches here in the Philippine’s, and elsewhere. We pray that God greatly blesses and rewards you
In His love,
Gordon & Emie
