“Some Go and Some Help Send” Romans 10:13-15
FAITH---SPOKEN WORD---ACTION
MARK 9:23 NKJ Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Hebrews 11:1 NLB “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”
Mark 11:23-24 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.’ ---- {a mountain is symbolic of an obstacle, hindrance, or (seemingly) insurmountable problem}
James 1:25 “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
Hebrews 10:36 AMP “For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.
Dear Friends,
Hi. Emie & I pray the Lord will strengthen you and encourage you--- and as mentioned in the following Scripture grant you His joy & peace. Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” { No obstacle or problem is too big for God---and He is for you, He loves you, and He will help you.}
In Acts 17:6b NKJ; the disciples were referred to as: “…These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.” The Disciples were “World Changers” . As they stepped forward to fulfill the Great Commandment ( To Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to love your neighbor as yourself) and the Great Commission: ( to reach the gospel to all creation and make disciples of all nations); they were being use by God to advance His Kingdom and make dramatic positive changes in the world.
Jesus said in Luke 4:18-19 “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, 19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.” Jesus also said in John 20:21 “…As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
1. When we exercise solid faith & believe God’s word and His calling on our lives;
2. when we line up our spoken words with the Lord’s truth and calling on our lives;
3. and when we then step out in simple faith and obedience, and take action to do the work He has called us to do---then we become an active part of God’s “World Changers Team”.
Emie & I would like to once again say: “THANK-YOU so very much---for partnering with us in reaching people for Christ. Your faithful prayers, encouragement, and financial investments in the ministry outreaches continues to help us reach new people for Jesus every month; train and encourage Christians in their faith & service to the Lord; and help the poor as led by the Holy Spirit. We pray that God will greatly bless and reward you. “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10
Emie and I would like to share a testimony:
Dear Friends,--------Greetings to you in the name of Jesus, the lover of our soul and healer of our body.
I would like to share some highlights of the ministry here in the Philippines! I can say that the Lord is the Lord of good timing---because last March, the first Sunday of the month, I was invited to preach at our daughter church in Calbiga, but for some reason was not available so I rescheduled my date to visit the Calbiga Church on the 2nd Sunday and during the service the people were blessed and revived.
After the Church service a member approached me to visit and pray for a 10 year old girl named Mary Rose who had been laying down on the floor and was very sick & looked like she was waiting to die. The parents were very poor and lived in a small native house, they had no hope for their daughter to get healed because they had no money to bring their daughter to the hospital. When I looked at her, I was moved with compassion. I prayed for her but decided to take her with me to Tacloban so I couldtake her to the hospital. The Doctor there told me that she was in critical situation and was diagnosed with Dengue fever . She spent 9 days in the hospital and though prayer and medication, by God’s grace Mary Rose is now healed.
(Emie praying for her upon check –in) (Mary Rose 9 days later on the day she was to leave the hospital)
Mary Rose and her Mom visited us 3 weeks after her check out when she came to Tacloban for a follow up check by the Doctor. They expressed again their appreciation for helping her. The reason we were able to help her was because of your generosity to help make this ministry possible.
Thank-you for your love, prayer, and partnership to the ministry that God entrusted to all of us. We go and you help send us. God bless you all. Love, Emie
This month I was in Mindanao for a 1 week World Missions conference and Emie was in the Manila attending 2 different prayer conferences, one of which had approx. 10,000 people attending. These meetings were very good and were helpful to us. The churches we have helped pioneer and establish in Biliran, Leyte, and Samar Islands in region 8 are doing well over all. The
several thousand people with the gospel each Sunday & other areas of ministry outreaches are being fruitful also.
In about 3 weeks it will have been 20 years ago that I came to the Philippines, in a simple step of faith and in obedience to what I believed was the call of God. In this time frame we have been able to share the gospel to many thousands of people and see many people (of all ages) ----have their lives transformed after receiving Jesus as their Savior & Lord. Through a ministry of encouragement and discipleship we have seen hundreds of people grow spiritually and become more active in their faith & service to the Lord. We have seen the lives of very poor people blessed by us being able to give them various helps in the areas of food, clothing, medical, and other areas. We have seen people’s lives physically saved because we were able to help them---and see them also receive Eternal Life by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. We thank God for the honor of serving Him and we give Him praise & glory. We also thank the Lord for leading faithful Christians to work side by side with us and partner with us in reaching people for Jesus.
It is our prayer that God will grant us 20 to 30+ more years to continue to preach
the gospel and see many more people’s lives saved by responding to the love, grace, and mercy of the Lord. God bless you always. In Christ’s love,

Missions for Jesus in the Philippines "Freedom in Christ" # 232
Freedom in Christ. Issue No. 232
February 19th, 2012
{ Jesus Came to Set the Captives Free.}
2 Cor. 3:17 NIV “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified); Gal. 3:13 AMP
[ Walk by the Spirit ] It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Gal. 5:1 NAS
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Dear Friends,
Hi. Emie & I send you our greetings once again in the amazing name of Jesus. We pray the Lord will fill you with His love, joy, and peace. May God grant you the desires of your heart and answer your specific prayer requests in the affirmative and speedily.
“ Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14 NAS In a world that currently has an abundance of problems many people may feel very concerned and troubled. Jesus said in John 8:31-32 “….If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” As we read and meditate on God’s word and do it----we find freedom from the fears and anxieties this world system and the enemy of our soul tries to put on us:
(the following are not platitudes or mere words---they are the truth that gives us freedom)
#1. Don’t worry….about provision for your needs or about tomorrow.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Mt. 6:33
#2. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7
#3. Rejoice. “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21:28 (When there are many extremely difficult things coming upon the earth---Jesus is bigger than them all.) “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”---JESUS John 16:33 NAS
It may be noted that sometimes it seems difficult to follow these commands (not just suggestions) that the Lord has given us. But when we begin to focus our eyes upon Jesus as the Christian song says,---then truly--- the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
{We Can Trust In the Lord---always. He is on our side & He is for us. And, He just happens to be all powerful.}
I mentioned in last month’s newsletter that we had a team of Christian workers from Youth With a Mission staying with us for over a month. They worked with our youth, spoke at two of our churches and to other churches and ministries we helped schedule in the area. They shared the gospel to prisoners in 3 city jails and our youth worked with them. On one Saturday night the YWAM team and our youth held an evangelistic outreach in a poor subdivision and reached many youth with the gospel. The next night at our Sunday evening Youth meeting at the Tacloban astrodome, almost 60 youth attended and more than 20 were new Christians from the previous night’s crusade.
To host several people at your mission’s compound and residence for a few weeks, it takes some effort, and one must be willing to be a good host. When you see the new people saved, and the growth of your youth, and the growth of the YWAM Team members themselves---it is a real blessing and reward. Many of the YWAM team are fairly new Christians themselves, and these outreaches were a part of their training.
Tomorrow, Emie and I and a few Australian missionaries will be traveling to Biliran
Island. We are helping Graeme and Paula Connelly to conduct a seminar on Tuesday, to many pastors and church leader from various churches on that island. Their ministry has already been a blessing and encouragement to many here in Tacloban area. We have Eternal Life Ministry Churches on Biliran Island: in Culaba, Caibiran, Cabucgayan, Looc, and Bato; and people from these churches will be attending the seminar.
It was twenty years ago I was in Olympia, Washington---preparing for a missions trip to the Philippines in May of 1992. I had been on short term mission’s work in the Philippines in 1983 & 1985---but I knew that this would be a longer range mission’s outreach, but I did not know how long.
I sold most of my modest assets and took a step of faith and obedience to what I believed to be the direction of the Lord to: #1 share the gospel of Jesus Christ where ever God opened the doors. #2. Exhort and encourage fellow Christians in their faith and service to the Lord. #3. Help the poor as led by the Holy Spirit.
In these past nearly 2 decades: many men, women, youth, and children--- have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord in our ministry outreaches. We have received testimonies from many other Christians of various ages, that through our ministries---they have been edified, strengthened, and encouraged in their faith and service to the Lord. And in these years we have been able to help the poor with food, clothing, medical, toys for children, and other areas of help---given in the name of Jesus.
First and foremost I give thanks to the Lord for all the good fruit in the ministry outreaches. I also thank God very much for giving me a wonderful wife in Emie. We are able to work side by side in the ministry, as well as in raising our 7 God-given children. And we together---thank the Lord very much for each of you who are faithfully partnering with us in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless you---for your friendship, prayers, and financial investments in God’s work through the ministry outreaches. We pray the Lord will greatly reward you for your important help to us in reaching people for Jesus. In Christ’s love,
P.S. Gordon & Emie
Please Pray: for God’s fresh anointing, clear direction, abundant provision, good health and strength, powerful protection, and all else needed for us, the ministry workers, and team---to best serve the LORD.
Finances: I don’t always know how to best share about the financial needs. But today, Emie & I, would simply like to share the needs of the ministry to those who are able and willing to give a special offering, (as the Lord leads). We need some help at this time. Thank you.

Thank-you for your prayers, encouragement, and help to us in the ministry outreaches in the past months and years, and in the present. I believe we will all---one day meet people in heaven, that have come to know Jesus as their Savior & Lord as a result of all of us working together as a team to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Emie & I continue to pray for all of you who receive this newsletter and are partnering with us. We trust the Lord to help you in the areas of your lives you most need His assistance. We also continue to pray for the Lord to reach all your unsaved relatives and friends. (“We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.)--- I Thess. 1:2)
As we enter the first month of this New Year of 2012 we continue to pray for the Lord’s clear guidance for us all. We believe God will move upon people’s lives in powerful ways this year, He will do something “New” just as described in the Scriptures at the top of this page. “…as long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.” ---2 Chronicles 26:5b
Yesterday we visited the Tacloban City Jail and shared testimonies and Scripture with approx. 100+ prisoners. A 7 member team from YWAM (Youth With a Mission) that is staying with us for a month; shared through preaching, testimonies, and drama—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Emie interpreted, and I also shared with the inmates. Many of the prisoners prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior & Lord.
“I was in prison and you came to see Me.” Math. 25:36c ---Jesus
On Friday January 6th, Emie & I visited and were the guest speakers---to the Canavid Church in Eastern Samar. (a 6 hr RT drive) They were having a “Thanksgiving Celebration” for the growth of the church in the past 9 months and the completion of the first stage of an increase of their church building size by about 250%. Philippine-Missions - for Jesus "Serve God Faithfully"
SERVE GOD FAITHFULLY Issue No. 224
GENESIS 17:1 NLT [ Abram Is Named Abraham ] When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life.
HEBREWS 12:28 NKJ Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
I TIMOTHY 5:12-14 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
PSALM 92:14 AMP 14[Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
Dear Friends,
Greetings to all of you in the amazing name of Jesus. Emie and I pray for God’s custom-made blessings for you. May He strengthen & encourage you and bring fresh anointing on all your service to Him. The apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:13 AMP, “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].” Each of us, (whether younger or older) through God’s power can do all He has put us on this earth to do.
This last part of a song written by Evangelist Bud Chambers, I believe well describes one of our major purposes in life: “I was made in His likeness, Created in his image, for I was born to serve the Lord. I will not deny Him; I will always walk beside Him, for I was born to the serve the Lord.” In Psalm 100:2 NKJ, the Bible
states: “Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with thanksgiving” The greatest honor & privilege any of us can ever have is to love and faithfully serve the Lord. “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” I Corinthians 15:57-58
Thank-you and God bless you for partnering with us in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
On the 1st Sunday of June I was in North Samar to visit our church in Cartarman. It is a 11 hour RT drive from Tacloban. Our Missionary friends Ray & Suzie Ruddy joined us. The congregation there was very happy we were able to visit and minister to them. I noticed they had some holes in their native Nepa (reed) roof and was able to give them a donation which helped them solve the leaking problem during rainy days. Pastor Ludring and the members were very happy about that. As we have shared in the past, many of the churches are smaller and located in rural areas that are poor and some extra help is greatly appreciated by them. Through the years at various times, different individuals and ministry groups have been led by the Lord to help us assist some of the churches in Region 8. Recently we have been able to begin to supply various help to several churches in such ways as new chairs, musical equipment, or roofing materials, etc. We thank the Lord for all of you who are helping now and all who have helped in the past. We pray that God will bless you a lot. In Philippians 4:10-20 the Apostle Paul thanks the Philippian church for their generosity in being a help to Paul’s mission work. In regards to receiving what they sent he wrote in vs. 18c-20 “…a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
Jesus continues to change lives. Our above Missionary friends work with us each year and usually spend 1 week ministering to our pioneering church and outreaches on the island of Zumaraga. Last year when Ray was speaking to a youth group in an outside area, a young man stood way in the back and tried to be disruptive. He had his arms folded, a scowl on his face, had long hair, and ear rings in his ears, nose, lips, etc. Ray stopped speaking to the youth for awhile and walked back to where this young rebel was at and shared with him that Jesus loved him. Ray prayed for him and he was touched by the power of God in a dramatic and life changing way and began to cry. One year later this young man who is called by his nickname “R-R”; is an active member in the Eternal Life Ministries church there, and the assistant to the pilot of our mission’s boat there that travels to the various villages on the island for Bible studies and evangelistic outreaches. He has a nice haircut and the rings that used to be all over his face are gone. He loves to serve the Jesus who transformed his life. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
On June 7th we had a missionary named Joseph Kack come give an excellent seminar for pastor’s and church leaders at our regular monthly meeting for the 21 churches held here in Tacloban. Emie traveled this month to 2 churches where she was the guest minister, one of these was the anniversary of our church in Palarao, Leyte.
In last month’s Newsletter there was a picture of “Baby Noreen” . I had originally intended to have that picture in this newsletter with some more background information. Noreen is the daughter of Emie’s niece Joanne who is not married and unable to raise this baby girl. Joanne was going to give her baby out for public adoption but Emie and I prayed and felt led to take in this baby girl and raise her. Noreen is now 7 months old and is loved and being well taken care of. We thank God for her.
A little over 13 years ago a mother’s dying request was for Emie and me to take care of her baby. This mother had severe tuberculosis and was malnourished. We had tried to take her to the hospital a couple of weeks earlier but she would not go. On the day she asked us to take care of her baby, the mother died.
We then took the little girl to the hospital where she received intensive care for 8 days and was on special medication for many more days. She was 1 year and 3 months old and weighed 10.3 lbs, the doctor said she was 3rd degree malnourished. She had Tuberculosis, scabies, worms, and Phenomena. We named her Gracia, and we prayed for her a lot during this critical time and have prayed for her ever sense. I found an old picture of Gracia as a baby and I took a new one last week, and I hope to include them in this newsletter. We serve a miracle working God.
THANK-YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL----FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP, PRAYERS, ENCOURAGEMENT, AND FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS IN HELPING US REACH PEOPLE FOR JESUS. (Every month we are leading new people to come and know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.) We continue to pray for you all---that the Lord will bless you and help you in all areas of your life and service to Him.
In Christ’s love,
Gordon & Emie

Dear Friends,
Emie & I once again send our greetings to you from the mission’s field in the Philippines. “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” ---I Thess. 1:b NKJ
We continue to pray for you and ask that the Lord will strengthen and encourage you, and give you new hope and an extra measure of faith that will bring you surprising victories in your life.

Two weeks ago I traveled to Naval on Biliran Island with two (ministry assistants in training) my kids, Gracia (13) and Hugh (9). We traveled then by boat over to a coastal village called Villalon on the peninsula of Leyte I was the guest preacher there for a monthly joint church service of the members in Calubian & Villalon which are pastored by Chris Majait who is one of the pastors working with us in Eternal Life Ministries Int’l. We had a good time of fellowship, praise & worship, and the people shared they were encouraged and blessed by the message I shared that day. Hugh and Gracia enjoyed the trip as well, even though it was a total of 4 hours roundtrip of driving and 45 minutes of boating.
For the past 3 months we have had higher than normal rain. Even though it is supposed to be part of the dry season now, last week we had very heavy rains and the most flooding we have ever seen in Tacloban. Some houses were half filled with water. Pastor Dodong & his wife Ising (who work with us in Tacloban and have their own E.L.M.I. church work here) had to leave their house in above the waist deep water. Their church building was also flooded and they met last Sunday at our Astrodome ministry area for their service. Several hundred people were evacuated to government properties for shelter & food until the waters receded. We were able to distribute some clothing to several people that was sent to us by Timothy II Ministries in the States. People are still cleaning up from the results of that flooding.
In mid-May it will be 19 years since I came to the Philippines in simple obedience to God’s direction to come here and preach the gospel wherever He opened the doors, and to share messages of encouragement and exhortation to Christians here and other nations the Lord directed. During these years many people have come to know Jesus as Savior & Lord of their lives; people have been strengthened and encouraged in their faith and service to the Lord, and the poor have been helped with food, clothing, medical, and other ways.
Emie & I are grateful to the Lord for the privilege of serving Him and we are very thankful to each of you who are partnering with us in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” –Romans 10:14-15a. We pray the Lord will continue to bless & reward you for your prayers, encouragement, and financial investments in helping us share the gospel of Jesus Christ and see new people saved every month.
I am scheduled to be back in the States this April and part of May. I will be ministering to some churches and home groups, and visiting family & those of you who would like to spend some time in fellowship. If you have meetings you would like me to share to and/or would like to spend some personal time together, please contact me. My contact phone number is 360-748-3858 and my email is gordonkalich@yahoo.com . It is always nice to spend time together.
Please pray for Emie as she will be “holding down the fort” so to speak here in the Philippines. She will be taking care of the church, ministry outreaches, and the kids. Also please pray that the Lord will bless my time of ministry and fellowship in the States. May He strengthen both Emie and me, freshly anoint us, and schedule our daily meetings and times of fellowship---and help us to be a blessing to many people. Thanks.
As we look at the events in the world today, it is obvious that there is a shaking of things that can be shaken currently going on in this world. Rather than focus on what is shaken---let us focus on what cannot be shaken: Hebrews 12:28 NKJ “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
Let’s continue to faithfully serve the Lord---to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, to make Disciples, and to help those the Lord leads us to help. One day when each of us stands alone before God—may we hear the words: “well done, good and faithful servant.” We pray the Lord will greatly bless you all for helping us bring people to Jesus. In Christ’s love,
Gordon & Emie
Hebrews 6:10 NIV “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
P.S. Fervent prayer gets positive results. Please pray for the Lord’s wisdom and guidance for us, for His favor and powerful protection and provision for all the ministry outreaches and for our family. / We have made some progress in regards to finances last month but are still in need of a breakthrough in that area. Please pray for the Lord to open the windows of heaven and pour forth full financial provision and for Him to rebuke the devourer. Please also pray the Lord will greatly bless all the intercessors and financial partners in the ministry. Thank-you

Jeremiah 19:3 NLT “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
John 10:10 AMP “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” ---Jesus
Psalm 91:14-16 NKJ 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 ith long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”[ God loves you, He calls you by name, and He will guide, bless, and help you
Dear Friends, Emie and I pray the Lord will richly bless you today and throughout this year--- & all the years to come. May His love, joy, & encouragement be with you in new and special ways. We pray He will grant you the desires of your heart and that 2011 will be a year of positive breakthrough and victory in your life and service to the Lord. 2 John 3 “Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.”
God encourages us to not give up in Galatians 6:9 “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” And in Hebrews 10:36 we are again exhorted to complete what the Lord has called us to do: “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. When we are persistent in fulfilling the various areas of God’s call on our life---we will reap the harvest and receive all that the Lord’s has promised us. May the Lord give us all a clear vision of His highest purposes for each of our lives---and may He give us all the strength, wisdom, anointing, and committed will to fulfill His plan for our lives on earth---prior to graduation day. Amen.
Josepa (Nanay) Machado is an 80+ year old Filipina lady who used to work for many years in Samar for another ministry group with their children’s ministry and as a secretary . Emie & I both knew her in the 1990’s and appreciated her love for the children’s ministry. When she left the ministry because of old age, Nanay had no ministry retirement income nor social security. She moved a fair distance from this region to Romblon island to live with some poor relatives. Emie and I would send her occasional help until a few years ago when we were able to send her some monthly financial help due to the donation for her from one of our friends and ministry partners. She sends us a monthly letter thanking us for the help. In one letter Nanay writes: “… God bless you and may He continue to sustain you as you continue to serve in love. How faithful God is to every one of you. /Thank you so much for what you are sending to me as well as your prayers. Without I could do less… your prayers and giving is not in vain. / I’m still taking medication. I hope I could stop using it. Nevertheless your financial help and prayers are a great help to me./ I continue to pray for you as you do for me./ Love, Nanay Josepa” {In other letters she shares her continued burden & prayers for reaching children

Yesterday I drove to Calbiga, Samar to minister to the church congregation we have in that area. It is about a one hour drive and I took my ministry support team with me, my son Hugh, and daughters Gracia, Faith, and Joy. It was a blessing to join in fellowship and praise & worship the Lord with the church members there. The church sits on a high riverbank lot, in a rural farming area about 3 kilometers from the city proper. We had a really good service there and several people were touched by the Lord during the alter call. The joy of the Lord was there in a special way. Pastor Leo, the Filipino pastor there later sent a text message to my wife and said the people were really happy and blessed by my visit. He also shared that he personally had a break-though as that was the first time he had interpreted for an English speaking pastor. (He had been a little nervous as the regular interpreter was absent, but I found that Pastor Leo did a good job.) There has been a breakthrough in intercessory prayer in Region 8. In a recent prayer conference most of the pastors of various churches in Tacloban, and other areas in the islands of Leyte, Samar, & Biliran have felt led to start a 24 hour prayer chain for the region. In Tacloban various pastors and their church members are beginning to sign up for specific hours of prayer to cover the whole week. Also every morning, Monday to Saturday, from 5 A.M. to 6 A.M. different pastors from the churches are gathering at our Eternal Life
ministry area in the Tacloban Astrodome, and having joint intercessory prayer. I usually am up early and so last week I drove downtown and opened up the prayer area at 5 A.M. all but one day when Emie went. We use the meeting area for Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday night meetings for our local church, for the Tacloban Pastor’s regular weekly meeting, and for special seminars at different times. And we offered it to be used for these daily prayer meetings. I have always believed that “Prayer precedes the victory” and we are looking for a special move of God as a result of fervent prayer.

In December we were able to help out several poor families and seniors with food packets and other help. These people were really happy and thankful for the surprise help. We will continue to help the poor as the Lord leads and provides. The Sunday morning radio broadcasts are continuing to reach people for Jesus throughout region 8 and beyond. Emie gets texts on her cell phone every week from people who have been encouraged and touched by the messages on our radio program. People are getting saved and many are strengthened and encouraged in their faith. Most of the 21 churches we are helping to establish in Leyte, Samar, and Biliran islands are doing pretty well. We still have monthly meetings with the pastors for fellowship, prayer, & teaching. As many of the churches are in more remote and poorer areas, we also continue to help out the pastors with some modest but very helpful financial ministry gifts to assist them in their pioneering church work. The per capita income in the Philippines is still about 4% of the per capita income in the States, so while finances remain a significant challenge in this country, I see these pastors doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Emie and I would once again like to say “thank-you very much” for your friendship, prayers, and financial help to us in sharing the gospel and helping lead people to Jesus. We pray for you often, we trust the Lord to reward you for your partnership, and continue to pray for the salvation of all your relatives and friends. God bless you always. In Christ’s Love, Gordon & Emie
P.S. New people are being saved every month. Please pray we can help them grow to maturity in their faith and to be fruitful servants to the Lord. Please pray for us in all the regular areas we request monthly, and especially for good health, protection, daily prayer support, & abundant financial resources to be provided for every good ministry work for the Lord. In regards to finances, I will simply say---we could really use some help in that area at the present time. We greatly appreciate all who are already helping, but please pray for the Lord to touch the hearts of new people to help us in sharing the gospel and touch hearts of those capable of special gifts. Thank-you.

Philippine Missions for Jesus #219
While there is still time.
Issue No. 219
January 21st, 2011
PSALM 48:8&9 L.B. “For a soul is far too precious to be ransomed by mere earthly wealth. There is not enough of it in all the earth to buy eternal life for just one soul, to keep it out of hell.”
After healing a man born blind Jesus said the following to His Disciples:
"We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.”
JOHN 9:4 (New American Standard above & The Living Bible below.)
“All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the One who sent Me, for there is little time left before the night falls and work comes to an end.”
ROMANS 10:13-15a for “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?

We would like to in the beginning of this New Year to once again to say “Thank-you very much” for your partnership in sharing the gospel; for you friendship, continued prayers, encouragement, and financial investments in helping us reach new people for Jesus. We continue to pray and trust the Lord to reward you for your faithfulness.
As we see the many events taking place in the world today and see more and more Scriptural prophecies being fulfilled it is evident that the return of Jesus is getting closer & closer.
"Even so, you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that He is near, right at the door.” Mk 13:29 NAS
And Jesus encourages us not to fear things coming upon the world---but to rejoice as we see evidence of His return. In LUKE 21:28 KJV Jesus says: “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. We are living in one of the most exciting times of History and each of us has job assignments from Lord. We pray that each of us can fulfill the call and purpose of God for our lives. May we one day each of us hear from Jesus the words in Matthew 25:23 NKJ --His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
In early December, Dave Betts & most of his family ( from L.A.) traveled with me to Abuyog to minister to the inmates at the city jail as well as visit a small coastal village outreach where an extension church in being started. In the picture here on the left, Dave had finished preaching and Pastor Undo who (you can only see half of him) is in the right corner of this picture and he is leading several inmates in a prayer to receive Jesus as their Savior & Lord.

On Saturday, January the 1st of 2011, Emie and I traveled to Abuyog to minister to their main church for their anniversary celebration. The Theme was what you see written at the front of the church {Give Thanks}---it was a great way to start out the New Year---giving praise, worship, and thanks to God---for His great love, kindness, grace, mercy, and blessings to us all.

While there is still time
In Psalm 30 verses 3 & 11 the psalmist writes: “O Lord, You brought me back from the grave; You spared my life from going down to the pit. You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy; that my heart may sing to You and not be silent, Oh Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.”
The foundational goals of Eternal Life Ministries Int’l remain the same. We will preach the gospel where the Lord leads us and opens the doors; we will minister from God’s word to strengthen and encourage fellow Christians to help them in fulfilling the Lord’s call on their lives; and will help the poor as led by the Holy Spirit.
We are continuing to see new people saved every month through a variety of outreaches, including our Sunday regional radio broadcast which is heard by several thousand people. In the 21 local churches the Lord led us to help establish, the members are growing in their faith and service to the Lord;--- and the poor are still being helped in several ways.
I believe there are at least 3 primary reasons we have seen some good fruit in the ministry outreaches over the past 18 & 3/4th years. First is hearing the call &direction Of God; secondly is trying to step out in simple faith & obedience to God’s call; and the third reason is that the Lord had touched the hearts of faithful people to partner with us in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We remain eternally thankful to the Lord for each of you who are helping us in the mission fields. Many people now know Jesus as their Savior & Lord as a result of your help. Thanks so very much and God bless you & your family always. In Christ’s love,
Gordon & Emie P.S. Please continue to pray for us and all the pastors & ministry workers here in the Philippines. Pray for God’s wisdom, power, anointing, & love to pour upon our lives to help us be more effective in all areas of ministry to others. Please also pray for us to have good health & strength, protection & provision, and all else needed to abound in every good work. Please also pray for the Lord’s abundant blessings on all our partners. /Finances: Please pray the Lord will continue to touch the hearts of valiant men & woman to help us in sharing the gospel through investing financially in the ministry outreaches, which results in people being saved. God bless you.

Philippine Missions for Jesus
“Dear Father in Heaven ” Issue No. 212
June 19th, 2010
“…hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Mt 6:9b-10
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. ---Mt 28:19
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me
in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” ---Acts 1:8
Dear Friends,
Hi. Emie and I pray for the Lord to help you----and bless, strengthen, and encourage you in all areas of your life. May His blessings be unique and a pleasant surprise to you.
Psalm 116:1 NIV “Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.”
This Sunday , June 20th we will be celebrating Father’s Day. I already received 3 homemade cards from the triplets: Faith Hope, and Joy. Gracia had helped them---and she and Hugh will probably be giving me their homemade cards tomorrow. As Faith, Hope, & Joy enthusiastically handed me my Father’s Day cards tonight, with big smiles they said: “Happy Mother’s Day”. It was funny. /Side note: [The triplets were excited this week as they started their 1st day of School on Tuesday---they are in Kindergarten I; and Hugh is in the 3rd grade & Gracia in the 5th grade.]
May God bless and help the fathers in this world to become the true fathers that God created them to be. And may children honor their parents and receive the promise in Eph. 6:3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” I read a quote from a person who must have had a very good father and wanted to honor him: “Dad, you’re someone to look up to no matter how tall I’ve grown.”
Good parenting is an important responsibility and with God’s help we all can become better parents. Individually, all of us come from different backgrounds as children, some remembering their childhood with happiness and some with sorrow. Yet whatever our human family background---all of us who know Jesus as Savior & Lord have one very important truth in common: God is our Father. It is His Fatherhood we should focus on and look to for our example. His love is perfect. He is never too busy for us, He will comfort and help us. God our Father greets us with open arms & He gives us forgiveness, restoration, and great love and blessing.
Saying: “Thanks” and “Happy Father’s Day” to God is a good idea. It is because of God our Father’s love, mercy, and grace---that we live and breathe, and every genuine blessing that we have ever received is truly from Him. “Yet, O Lord, You are our Father…Is.64:8a & “A father to the fatherless and a defender of widows, is God…” Ps 68:5

The 1st part of the month on a Wednesday, I visited one of churches we helped pioneer which qualifies in “and to the ends of the earth” category. It is located up in a Siteo (smaller than a village), called “Sinabag” in the Northwestern part of Leyte Island in what they call mountains here in the Philippines (what we would call big hills in the States). It takes about 3 hours to get there from Tacloban when it is not the rainy season, otherwise the final 6 miles can be very muddy and hard to travel on. My nephew/ son Nonoy, Pastor Bobet (from that church) and Pastor Teddy & his wife Gena from our church in Looc, Biliran Is. traveled with me.
The final part of the trip is up a fairly steep--rough narrow road which is more like a big trail, and I could not use the Hi-Ace van on it. So although I had been having problems with sore feet and at a very recent doctor’s appointment had been advised to for 2 weeks, reduce by 90/% my walking, etc., ----there was not much option so walking up the hillside we all go. It is a fairly steady climb for a little less than a mile and you arrive at the little church and several small native houses overlooking a beautiful valley below.
The people there are poor farmers who have government given lands farther up in the hills which they grow crops on to make their subsistence living. In that hilly area and for a pastor to minister to the people several kilometers away, even a motorcycle is not sufficient---so last year we helped Pastor Bobet to buy a small horse.
He is now able to easily travel to the members further in the mountains for prayer, fellowship, and Bible study.
I was there to visit and fellowship with some of the family and church members there. We also moved some small benches out to a vacant lot recently purchased for a future new native church building. As the sun was setting and we looked over the valley and hills----we sang praise & worship songs to the Lord and prayed.
Later I had dinner with them in their small one room house that serves as the living room, dining, and bedroom.
Many families in the rural Philippines just roll out small reed mats on the floor and all sleep together at night.
It was a very nice time of fellowship and the people were happy I had come to visit them.
Over the next 2-3 weeks I hope to travel to most of the 21 churches and spend time with the pastors, their families, and church leaders for a time of fellowship and prayer. For some it might be in the morning, others at noon or evening. To visit every church on a Sunday would take 5 months so this will be shorter visits of prayer and fellowship at various time of the week. By the time you get this newsletter, God willing--- I will be on the road traveling to several churches and in part of the trip traveling by boat to 2 churches on the small islands.
Three Sundays ago, in the afternoon---Emie & I traveled with some of our Tacloban church members to visit the town of Lapaz where we are starting to pioneer a new church that came about as a result of people saved during our Sunday radio broadcasts. Many of the people at our meeting there are seniors in their sixties & seventies, but they are excited about coming to know Jesus as their Savior & Lord and want to serve Him. We prayed for several people there that day and the Lord was touching people’s lives.
When we were leaving and driving though the downtown area there were crowds of people on both sides of the road and people running to the scene of a very bad accident between 2 motorcycles which had a head-on collision. On the left side of the road was a pool of blood. We could not see the accident victims because of the crowds. I drove further & pulled the van off the road, and Emie and I went back. The 1st man was bloody with head and body wounds and was being held in a sitting position. He was conscious and Emie was able to speak to him in dialect and he prayed with her to receive Jesus as Savior & Lord. The man across the street where the pool of blood was, almost had his leg severed at the knee and was very pale. He was still conscious and once again Emie shared with him in the native language and he softly prayed with her to receive Jesus as Savior & Lord. No ambulance from a nearby city had arrived yet and there were no medics or doctors in that area. The 1st man I would have estimated had a 90% chance of survival, but the 2nd man did not appear to have much hope of surviving.(he died 2 days later) But they both had been able to pray to God and ask Jesus to be their Savior & Lord.
As we have entered into the first weeks of our 19th year in missions, once again Emie and I and the ministry workers here in the Philippines would like to say “Thank-you so very much” for helping us share the gospel of Jesus Christ here in the Philippines and some other countries. People are being saved, strengthened and encouraged in their faith & service to the Lord, and helped in a variety of ways. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial investments in sharing the gospel is helping reach people for Jesus. Your faithful partnership is very important and greatly appreciated. We pray God richly blesses you.
In Christ’s love,
P.S. Please pray for God’s blessings upon Emie for her 50th birthday July 10th and our 18th wedding anniversary on July 23rd. Thanks Gordon & Emie
…the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” --James 5:16b NLT
P.S.S. Please Pray for us and the ministry workers: The requests are for God’s blessing upon the fruitfulness of the ministry outreaches, and for His protection, clear guidance & special anointing, and for provision & good health.
Also please pray that God will raise up 70+ more intercessory prayer partners to intercede for us and the Eternal Life Ministries International workers and partners; that together we can reach many more people for Christ.
Finances: This ministry from the beginning in 1992 has been a faith based ministry. We thank God for touching the hearts of faithful people to help us financially to share the gospel in the mission’s field in the Philippines and a few other countries. Please pray for the Lord to bless and reward all our current financial partners and for the Lord to raise up 35 new financial ministry partners; & that God will supply $1000. + in additional monthly donations to Eternal Life Ministries Int’l for the ministry outreaches to help in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We need a breakthrough & help in that area.

“God will build His Church” Issue No. 211
May 21st, 2010
Matthew 16:15-17 & 18b He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven…and on this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it”.
Footnotes in my Bible: The expression (gates of Hades) means “the power of death” cannot prevent the advancement of the kingdom, nor claim victory over those who belong to God.
Dear Friends,
Hi. Emie & I pray the Lord blesses, strengthens, and encourages you today.
2 John 3a “Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ,…”
May you experience great breakthrough and see several major prayer requests fulfilled in the remaining months of 2010.
We can have confidence and assurance that the Lord will continue to help us in our individual lives: Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” We can be certain that globally and locally, God will continue to build His church of which all of us who believe in Him are a part of. ( Math. 16:18b). And also when we look at the troubling conditions in this world---we can have rest in our souls as we remember---that God has helped us in the past, He is with us now as well as every day in the future. John 16:33b “…In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” ---Jesus.
On a personal basis if you are facing challenges the Lord says in His word: Isaiah 43:2-3a “When you pass though the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;” & Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
{God is for you; He will never leave you nor forsake you
In mid-May we completed 18 years of ministry outreaches in the Philippines & U.S.A.--- as well as doing some ministry work as well in China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Kenya, & D.R. Congo. If the Lord grants us good health and long life, Emie and I hope to continue to serve in ministering the gospel for 20-30 + more years---globally. (With God, all things are possible)
We are thankful to the Lord for the privilege of serving Him, and thankful for the many people who have been saved and strengthened in their faith during these years. We also once again---would like to convey our great appreciation and sincere thanks to each of you for partnering with us to reach people for Jesus. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial investments in God’s work through the ministry outreaches is producing good results. People are being saved, discipled, and the poor have been helped. We continue to pray for you and always and trust the Lord to bless and reward you for your partnership with us in sharing the gospel.
“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown towards His name, in that you have ministered to His saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10
One of our ministry outreaches we have shared about before is our weekly DYVL Radio broadcasts airing on Sunday morning through-out Region 8 (Biliran, Leyte, & Samar Islands) and beyond. Every week people respond by texting and a couple of those responses Emie recently received after one of her broadcasts are as follows: “Thank-you Mam for sharing the word of God through Radio. The message is always uplifting to us and gives life to our spirit. I am your avid listener from the Island of Samar.”---Royo Family. And another person texted: “I just tuned in my radio and I heard you speaking about God. I really liked the way you prayed for people. I am a woman of 2 children, a widower, and worried; but the word you shared in the air is very uplifting & encouraging. Thank-you for praying for us.”
In the past 18 years, whether it has been in church services, seminars, Bible studies, open-air crusades, radio broadcasts, or one-on-one---people’s lives have continued to be saved, encouraged, and strengthened by sharing the good news about Jesus Christ and God’s good plan for each person’s life. As we enter this 19th year of ministry, may God grant increase & favor.

Last week there was a very good ( interdenominational) youth camp on Biliran island and 150 young people (teens to early twenties) attended. We have established 6 churches on that island and about half the youth delegates were from those churches. This week in Tacloban we had a training session for some of the church youth and adults in evangelism & discipleship application. They visited some of their unsaved relatives & friends. Last night in Tacloban at the (mini) astrodome meeting area there were over 70 youth & some adults attending a “Harvest Party” and it was a blessing to see that many attending were new Christians as a result of evangelism outreach this week.
Jesus said: “…The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”¬ ---Matthew 9:37-38
We will continue to do our best to share the gospel of Jesus Christ wherever the Lord opens to doors to do so and help teach and train others to do so also. Thank-you for your prayers, encouragement, and financial help to the missions outreaches here in the Philippines and other countries.
For “ whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? ---Romans 10:13-15a
Thank-you once again for helping send us to share the gospel and God bless you always.
In His love,
Gordon & Emie
Please continue to pray for us: that the Lord will continue to give us the wisdom, boldness, strength; and the prayer support & financial provision---to share the gospel to more people and in more nations. Please also continue to pray for God’s blessing on our health, for His protection in all areas, and for the Lord to touch the hearts of more people to actively partner with us in sharing the “life saving & life changing” gospel of Jesus.

The “All is possible!” God.
Issue # 210
April 20th, 2010
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Dear Friends,
Hi. Once again we send you our greetings from the Philippines. Emie and I continue to pray for God’s special blessings for your life. Thank-you for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and financial help for the ministry outreaches that are reaching people for Jesus. May the Lord--- strengthen, encourage, comfort, and guide you clearly on His best pathways for you. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”—Proverbs 3:5-6 While we continue to see many difficulties and challenges in the world today--- and each of us individually encounter personal issues (problems), which may seem at times quite difficult. We have on our side however, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Jesus encourages us in: John 14:27 NAS “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. God’s peace is incredible & overpowers our fears.
We are also encouraged in Romans 8:31b “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
God is definitely on your side—and nothing can hinder or block, His help and supply for you
By trusting in God and letting His power work in and through our lives----we will see and experience victory in the most important areas of our lives. The apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things though Christ who strengthens me.” We are exhorted once again that it is not our personal strength or ability that is important-- but God’s strength and help to us that brings the victory. God’s word says in Zechariah 4:6b LB “…Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts---you will succeed because of My Spirit, though you are few and weak.” And the
conclusion of this matter is listed at the upper part of this page: { For--With God--Nothing Shall Be Impossible
I arrived back in the Philippines about 11:15 PM on April 8th after one of the smoother flights I have experienced on the Seattle-Tokyo Manila flights. I don’t know about you, but I am not particularly fond of turbulent flights that shake the whole plane and make you wonder if you might go to heaven earlier than expected. I thank the Lord for the smooth and safe flight.
It is good to be back to see Emie and [Nonoy, Gracia, Hugh, Faith, Hope, and Joy].
This is summer vacation for the kids (April & May), so I am able to spend more time fellowshipping with them. It has also been nice to see the ministry is continuing to grow and more people are coming to know Jesus as Savior & Lord. Three weeks ago Emie and our pastors had a 2 day & night “Encounter God” meeting at our Missions Compound. There were 134 delegates, plus 13 teachers & 5 on the music team---it was crowded. Several people received Jesus as their Savior & Lord and many Christians experienced a greater closeness with the Lord and a desire to serve God in a greater way.
Today there is a 3 day City wide youth camp and over 30 of our youth are attending. Even Gracia and Hugh went, although most of those attending are in their teens, and a few in their early twenties. Total attendance in expected to be 100+. On Thursday-Saturday there is a three day nation-wide fasting and prayer meeting for the upcoming Philippine elections which will be held in May. The Tacloban interdenominational & independent churches are involved locally. This will be a busy week.
We have recently helped 3 families this week who had a family member who required treatment in the hospital. One was Pastor Chris’s child who was injured in a motorcycle related accident, (they are from our church in Calubian) We also helped one poor family (mother & 3 children) who needed assistance for fare in going to Manila to live with her parents for awhile until her husband can find new work.
Many of you probably remember Randy, the teen-age street boy who was so sick and we brought him to our home last September.
He weighed only 70 lbs when we took him to the doctor, he now weighs 106.5 lbs and is almost totally healed of the advanced stage of TB he had. The sores on his neck are healed and his overall heath is good. Last September I believe he would have died within a few days if we had not taken him in off the streets. He has lived with us at our home & missions compound now for almost 8 months. He can read and write and if we can get his hearing improved we hope to be able to send him to a 5 month Bible School course that is offered by some missionary friends of ours.

We believe that the most important part of the gospel is to help people receive God’s gift of salvation though faith in Jesus. We also believe that in the physical area---helping the poor is important also. In Jeremiah 22:16 the Scripture reads: “He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know Me?” declares the Lord.
Emie and I, (along with our ministry pastors and workers here)---will continue to do our best to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to many people; exhort & encourage fellow Christians in their faith & service to the Lord; and help the poor as led by the Holy Spirit. We are always very thankful to God for each of you who are partnering with us in the various ministry outreaches that are reaching people for Jesus. As we have shared before: “Some Go & Some Help Send.” Thanks so much for partnering with us and God richly bless you always.
In His Love,
Gordon & Emie
P.S. Please continue to pray for us--that the Lord would continue to strengthen us, give us fresh insight & wisdom, increased fruitfulness in all areas of ministry, good health, protection, and full financial provision.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 NASB Then the Lord answered me and said: “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; but at the end it will speak, it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail though it tarries, wait for it; because it will certainly come, it will not delay.”
In Eternal Life Ministries International the foundational vision is: 1. To preach the gospel of Jesus Christ wherever God opens the doors. 2. To exhort & encourage Christians in their faith & service to the Lord. 3. To have a genuine helps ministry to the poor, as led by the Holy Spirit.
The vision for the Churches of Eternal Life Ministries in the Philippines that we share with them is:
“We are Soul Winners Committed to bring the Gospel of Life, Hope, and Transformation to the Families, Communities, Cities, and Regions Beyond.

Our Missions Statement: “We raise up committed Soul Winners & Pastors to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing Life, Hope & Transformation to the families & communities through discipleship training & church planting.”
I Thessalonians 5:24 “Faithful is He who calls you, and He will also bring it to pass.”

Dear Friends,
Warm greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus. Emie & I continue to pray for God’s unique, special, and timely blessings for your life this New Year and always. “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ.” ---I Peter 1:2
As we are now 2&1/2 weeks onto this New Year of 2010 and a New Decade as well, it is a good time to continue to seek the Lord for wisdom & guidance, in setting God directed goals for our personal lives and service to Him. Jeremiah 29:12-13 “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” And in addition to God’s direction in setting goals I believe we also need to ask the Lord to give us the strength, courage, pure faith, and resources to fulfill His call and purpose for our lives. The Lord encourages in that regards in Isaiah 41:10. “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ So we can rest assured that God is willing to help us---but we must always be willing to do our part and be willing to work at & apply what the Lord has taught us and directed us to do. James 1:25 NAS “But the one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
Zig Ziglar, a Christian who is a motivational speaker and author, has shared much about goal setting. One thing he shared was a simple formula for achieving goals that greatly helped him and many other people. I will share them as you may find these helpful. “#1. Write the goal down. #2. Put a date on it. #3. List the obstacles I have to overcome. #4. Identify the people or groups I have to work with to help in fulfilling the goal. #5. Spell out a plan of action and put a date on it. #6. Identify the benefits to me.” I would simply add at the top and bottom of that list with every specific goal: “Pray and ask the Lord for His help & thank Him”---- because we know that with God all things are possible. An Old saying states : [“Just do your best, and God will take care of the rest.”]
First of all in starting the testimonial part of this newsletter in the beginning of this New Year & New Decade; we give heartfelt thanks & praise to the Lord---for His calling and the honor to serve Him and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ. Emie & I also would like to once again express our sincere thanks to you for your friendship & partnership---for your prayers, encouragement, and financial investments in the ministry outreaches. In effective missions work--- the teamwork of those who go and those who help send is vitally important. We continue to pray for God to bless you always for your help to us in leading people to Jesus.
When we had our monthly pastors meeting (1st Monday evening to ednesday morning) this January, we had a break-though in total weekly average attendance for December, the last month of the decade. [ The average combined attendance of adults, young people, and children for all the churches was over one-thousand people for the first time, it was 1,053]. I have mentioned in the past that Region 8 which consists of the islands of Biliran, Leyte, & Samar is the least evangelized region in the Philippines with only 1-2% born again and
medium church attendance is in the low forties. We started out 2009 with 17 churches, and now have 21 churches as of January 2010. In the past few months 4 pioneering church outreaches joined with us from these areas: Tacloban (SanJose/ V&G area) ---Pastor Dodong/ Calubian, Leyte---Pastor Chris/ Calbayog, Samar---Pastora Jonalyn/ and Ilo, Samar---Pastora Virginia. Please pray for God’s blessings & help to these pastors and churches. Emie recently had a special blessing and added responsibility given to her. In Tacloban City and a few neighboring small towns, they have a Pastor’s Association of 46 Churches from different denominations and independent ministries. Many of them meet weekly for prayer, fellowship, & planning of joint outreaches and seminars for Tacloban. Emie has been faithfully working with them for many years. For the past 2 years she was their Treasure, and this year was elected President by 90% of the vote. She is the 1st woman to ever hold that office. Please pray for God’s guidance, strength, and wisdom for her and all the Tacloban Pastors Association. Since they have been united and praying for the city of Tacloban, (& the region, nation , and other countries); ---we have seen growth and improvement in the Christian churches here.
I hope to leave room for 2 pictures for this newsletter so I will not write a lot more. In summary, most all the Eternal Life Ministries churches are doing well, our Sunday morning Regional Radio Broadcast is reaching several thousand people with the gospel and people are being saved. The children’ feeding and ministry outreach is a blessing. We have ministered in hospitals, prisons, funeral services, and many areas. The poor have been helped with food, medicine, cloths, and in other areas. By the grace of God we have in the past years been able to minister in Asia: to people in Vietnam, China, Thailand, &Malaysia; and in Africa: to people in Kenya, & D.R. Congo, and my home country the USA.
While it appears the majority of our ministry will be in the Philippines, we hope in this next ten years to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in some countries in all of the Continents on this earth. By God’s love, grace, mercy, and strength---we can all be used by the Lord in amazing and special ways in reaching many people with the life-saving & life-changing; gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank-you very much for your partnership in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Christ’s love, Gordon & Emie
P.S. Please continue to pray for God’ favor and blessings upon this New Year & New Decade of service to Him. We continue to need prayer for fresh anointing, clear direction, protection, wisdom, strength, good health, and financial provision. [We need and appreciate your prayers}
I Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”

P.S. Please continue to pray for God’ favor and blessings upon this New Year & New Decade of service to Him. We continue to need prayer for fresh anointing, clear direction, protection, wisdom, strength, good health, and financial provision. [We need and appreciate your prayers}
I Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”

“WE WISH YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS &
AN EXCEPTIONALLY BLESSED NEW YEAR 2010!”
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
Christmas greeting to you all & your family. May the Lord’s blessing, guidance, protection, be unto you for the coming years. For unto you a child is born---for unto you a child is given to be Savior of our soul.
First of all I would like to thank God for His wonderful grace that we experienced throughout the year. We are blessed & grateful for the good health, protection, provision, and anointing that He has bestowed upon us and the ministry.
We are blessed with 6 kids. Our oldest son Jean Paul is now 23 years old and He is a skilled musician and table tennis player---a very sociable person and likable. Gracia is now 11 years old and very much healthy, and she is also active and involved in the ministry outreach like the children’s feeding program. She loves to sing and dance.
Hugh Gordon is now 8 and desires to be a pastor like (Daddy & Mommy). He is a very smart and a thinker. Faith, Hope , and Joy---our triplets are now 4 years & 3 months old; they are very much active & talkative and are ready for kinder school next year God willing.
Ministry is continuing to grow and I thank God, just last night there are 5 new people added as the result of a cell group meeting. We finally have a breakthrough of discipling members to become leaders. And now after 3 years of training they are also discipling people in their cell group. We are experiencing more leaders to be trained to do the work of the ministry.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for all who helped us make this ministry possible. We have 17 pastors & 5 workers whom we help throughout the years and they are working in the villages in the province of Samar, Leyte, and Biliran. They are faithful servants of Jesus Christ.
Thank-you very much because of YOU and YOUR PARTNERSHIP & PRAYER we were able to possess the land and People are coming to Him. Jesus Is The Reason We Exist.
Merry Christmas & a Prosperous New Year
Love, Emil

“The Savior is Born” Issue No. 205
December 13th, 2009
*The Pre-existent Christ*
Colossians 1:16-17 NIV “For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and things on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
John 1:1-4 AMP “In the beginning [before all time]was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the word was God Himself. He was present originally with God All things were made and came into existence through Him, and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life and the Life was the Light of men.”
*The Rescue Mission*
“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder.
And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Dear Friends,
We pray the Lord will greatly bless you this Christmas and grant you an excellent New Year. “Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.” –Jude 2 KJ
Much is said about Christmas . Traditionally it has been a time set aside by many to celebrate the Birth of Jesus, to have fellowship with family and friends, to give and receive gifts, and a time for some to extend an extra measure of good will and to have hope for a better world.
In recent years however, it seems like there has been quite a few unrepentant “Scrooges” who want to oppose the use of the name Christmas--and prefer to call it Xmas or Winter Holiday, etc. & they oppose nativity scenes in many locations and their primary attitude is “Bah Humbug”. Oh well, to them I would simply say: “MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Perhaps many of us see too much secularization in the Christmas season and too much emphasis on material items, etc. But I believe we would agree that a true concept and meaning of Christmas is the type of service and giving that Jesus refers to in Matthew 20:28 NKJ “just as the son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life a ransom for many.” We celebrate that God the Son, came down from heaven, and entered into this world born of a virgin in a humble manger----and He came here to seek and save that which was lost. We who believe have forgiveness of sins and eternal life—because Jesus came to serve and give His life as a ransom for us. {JESUS HAS BEEN--HE IS--AND HE ALWAYS WILL BE:--THE REASON FOR THE SEASON} John 3:16
I just came back into my office---today is Sunday and our church service will start in awhile. Downstairs I hear the little Sunday school kids rehearsing for a presentation to the congregation when we have the main service. I was blessed to hear them singing a few minutes ago: “Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born…”, and I just wanted to share that with you before I go downstairs for our church service. I believe many of us have experienced the anointing and special presence of the Lord on the music of children as they sing from their hearts in simple childlike faith and we were blessed and ministered to as they sang. [Psalm 8:2a “From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise…”
An Atheist for 67 years + spends Christmas in person---with Jesus
That was the caption of an email I sent to my friend Gary Evans 3 days ago. Gary had briefly met the person I write about and I had shared a little by phone and then emailed this testimony:
“Dear Gary,
I was starting to talk about Martin, who died last Saturday here, because it seldom a man past 60 receives Christ as Savior and Lord when they have rejected God most of their life. Martin was a European atheist who had not believed in God or so he said. But in the months he lived after he found out he had cancer, he began to look more openly at the issues of life and death.
I was speaking at the 1st anniversary of a church we are helping out in Calubian last August. That day I met Martin at the market where he had driven his motorcycle, and I was able to visit with him there for awhile. He mentioned he had cancer (he had already lived several months past what doctors had told him he would) and I simply shared with him that although he had rejected God most of his life, that the truth was that God is real,
that God loves him and wants to help him. I simply laid my hand on his shoulder and conversationally prayed for Martin, that the Lord would reveal Himself to him and let Martin experience the reality and love of God.
Three months later, Pastor Chris, (who is the pastor of the church we are helping there) had a dream about Martin and went to visit him early in the morning and found Martin in a very sick condition. He was able to lead Martin in a sincere prayer to receive Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Martin asked Chris to come back and share from the Bible.
Last Friday as I was about to leave to go to a prison ministry, I got a text message from Chris that he was at Martin’s bedside and I could call him if I was available. I called Martin and encouraged him, and he reaffirmed his faith in Jesus Christ. I said I would stop by and visit him on Sunday evening (a 3+ hour roundtrip drive as you recall). I got a text message from Dan Holmes on Saturday: “Martin Kramer is in God’s hands”.
God is good, if Martin had died suddenly a few months ago in a car crash, etc. there would have been no time to open his heart and receive Jesus. But as he was given a few months to take a serious and honest look at life and eternity---he then made the most important and best decision of his life. Martin will be spending his Christmas with Jesus.”
{Jesus replied to the thief on the cross who had asked the Lord to remember him when He came into His kingdom
“…Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” –Luke 23:42-43}
The Jesus we know and serve does not change. The Scripture states that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He came to seek and save the Lost, He came to destroy the works of the devil, and He came that you and I and all who believe in Him---could have real everlasting life. God loves us beyond our comprehension.
As we are now getting closer to entering a New Year and a New Decade, it is Emie & my prayer for us all---that God will preserve and protect the good fruit of the past years of our ministries, that He will continue to clearly guide us and anoint us all in our service to Him in the present, and that for future New Decade---that God will continually demonstrate in all our lives: the reality of Ephesians 3:20 where it states He “…is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all we can ask or think…” May we see many more people saved, encouraged and trained to faithfully serve the Lord, and may we be able to help those He has called us to help.
We are always very thankful to God for the privilege and honor to serve Him. And once again Emie and I would like to express our special thanks & appreciation to you, for your friendship & faithful partnering with us in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your prayers & financial investments in God’s work through the multiple ministry outreaches is: helping us to bring new people to Jesus, helping to strengthen and encourage people in their faith & service to the Lord, and helping the poor in a variety of ways. We continue to pray and believe the Lord for His blessings and rewards to you, for your partnership with us in ministering the good news of Jesus.
In Christ’s love,
Gordon & Emie
Hebrews 6:10 NIV “God is not unjust, He will not forget your work and the help you have shown Him as you helped His people and continue to help them.”
P.S. Please continue to pray: for us and the ministry workers and team---as the Lord leads you in all areas of our lives and ministry outreaches. We continue to ask for specific prayer for God’s fresh anointing, clear direction, protection & provision, good health, and abundant fruitfulness in the ministry outreaches.
Finances: Please pray for the Lord to gently & specifically speak to the hearts of a few willing people, to make a special year-end financial donation/investment in God’s work through the ministry outreaches. There is need for some extra help at this time. We are grateful to all of you, thanks & God bless you in special ways.
